COLTON, CA - November 19, 2008 - CWP Global, the newly formed HVAC business unit of Continental Materials Corporation, is proud to announce that Ben Tanner, Business Lean Manager was recently notified he successfully passed the Bronze Lean Certification test. Tanner will formally receive his certification upon review of his supply lean portfolio. The Business Lean philosophy is primarily a blend of innovation and problem solving designed to utilize tools and techniques of LEAN with ideation built-in to document business processes, generate ideas for improvement and implement the prioritized improvements in order to impact bottom-line results. The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), and administrators of the Shingo Prize have collaborated with industrial and academic participants to develop the "Lean Certification" standard for manufacturing.
